The Sefrou Primary Court in Morocco has sentenced rapper Jawad Asradi, known professionally as “Pause Flow,” to one year in prison and a fine of 5,000 MAD following a complaint filed by his ex-wife.
The court also ordered the artist to pay 50,000 MAD in civil compensation to the plaintiff. While convicting him on charges related to defamation and privacy violations, the bench acquitted Asradi of making threats against his ex-wife and informed him of his right to appeal within ten days.
The legal dispute began with Asradi’s arrest on August 10 in Imouzzer Kandar after his ex-wife accused him of slander, public defamation, and insults in his song “Cent Daz,” which referenced their past relationship. Public prosecutors subsequently charged the rapper with distributing false claims to violate private life, public defamation, and committing gender-based public insult and slander.
