The Criminal Chamber of the Rabat Court of Appeal has definitively closed the case of the young Rajaoui supporter killed in 2021 by AS FAR fans in the Youssoufia industrial district, daily Al Akhbar reported.

The court on Wednesday upheld the initial sentences, condemning 15 individuals to a total of 137 years in prison for their involvement in the brutal murder.

The incident occurred when a 20-year-old Rajaoui fan from Taroudant, living in Rabat, was attacked by AS FAR supporters after showing his allegiance to Raja Casablanca, following a heated classico match.

A violent confrontation ensued, resulting in the victim being severely injured with a knife. Despite being rushed to Ibn Sina Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries days later.

Following an investigation, five perpetrators were arrested, and ten more accomplices were identified, including two minors. Initially charged with armed robbery and assault, the charges were later upgraded to manslaughter following the victim’s death.

In the first instance, the defendants received 137 years in prison, with two minors sentenced to two years in prison with a suspended sentence.
