Transport Minister Highlights Progress in Moroccan Civil Aviation Security, Safety

Civil aviation security and safety in Morocco have advanced, as the country aligns with the strategic objectives of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, which provide a framework for international cooperation, Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Kayouh emphasized on Monday in Abu Dhabi.

Morocco’s commitment to ICAO initiatives has played a pivotal role in bolstering the confidence of travelers and key stakeholders in the aviation industry, Kayouh highlighted at 4th Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS 2025).

In this context, the minister emphasized the crucial role of civil aviation in promoting the overall development of all regions of the Kingdom, including remote and isolated areas. He recalled that, thanks to a vast network of airports covering the entire country—where each region has at least one airport—all regions are effectively connected to major economic hubs both nationally and internationally.

As the civil aviation sector significantly boosts tourism, the government official pointed out that the airspace liberalization policy adopted in the air transport sector nearly two decades ago has improved air connectivity and access to new global markets.
