Amazon has removed public statements advocating for LGBTQ rights and racial equity in its corporate policy.
The company, the world’s second-largest employer, deleted references to “equity for Black people” and “LGBTQ+ rights” from its corporate website in December 2024. This also included the removal of any mention of “transgender” issues, as reported by The Washington Post.
Previously, Amazon’s website expressed solidarity with Black employees and customers, committing to support legislation against racial bias, policing misconduct, and initiatives for improved health and education outcomes for Black communities. These statements have now been removed, marking a shift in the company’s public-facing stance.
