The Court of First Instance in Ain Seba, Casablanca, sentenced the YouTuber Aicha S. (known as “Houyam Star”) to four years in prison.

In a separate ruling on the same Monday night, the court also sentenced her husband, who was in pretrial detention, to one year in prison.

The court also ordered the closure of the convicted woman’s YouTube channel and the suspension of all video broadcasts.

The Public Prosecution, represented by Deputy Public Prosecutor  had charged the influencer with several offenses, including “insulting behavior, promoting bad role models, child abuse, defamation, and public indecency.”

Her arrest followed multiple complaints accusing her of posting provocative content, including inappropriate clothing, physical abuse of her children, blasphemy, and publicly declaring her conversion to Christianity while renouncing Islam.

The defendant was referred to the prosecutor’s office by the police, who decided to further investigate her case before sending her and her husband to trial in detention.
