UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated King Mohammed VI and the people of Morocco on securing the honor of hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, alongside Spain and Portugal.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Sheikh Mohammed wrote: “I congratulate my brother, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and the Moroccan people on winning the honor of hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, jointly with Spain and Portugal. I am confident that organizing this global event will be exceptional. Best wishes to all those involved for success.”

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) formally approved the joint bid on Wednesday during a special Congress chaired by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The decision marks Morocco as the second Arab country to host the global tournament, following Qatar’s historic 2022 edition.

FIFA’s endorsement of the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid reflects growing confidence in the nation’s ability to deliver an outstanding World Cup experience. The 2034 tournament was also awarded to Saudi Arabia during the same session, underscoring the rising prominence of Arab nations in global football.

Morocco’s hosting follows the national team’s historic performance in Qatar, where it became the first African nation to reach the semifinals, leaving an indelible mark on football history.
