Police in Tangier have arrested a man following the circulation of a video online showing him assaulting a woman in the street.
According to police sources, the incident stemmed from a dispute between the driver, who works for a ride-hailing app, and a female passenger. The argument escalated into the assault shown in the viral video.
Police had already received a complaint from the victim before the video surfaced. The suspect was identified and arrested Tuesday morning in Tangier. He is currently in custody awaiting questioning as part of an ongoing judicial investigation overseen by the public prosecutor.
