The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration has denied allegations circulating on social media regarding a lawyer hosting wild parties at the Souk El Arbaa prison with the help of the institution’s director.
The claims were found to be unfounded following an investigation conducted by a central committee.
In a statement, the delegation clarified that the investigation, which included reviewing records and surveillance footage, revealed that the lawyer in question visited the prison only once on November 7, 2023, to meet with a male client.
The statement further explained that access to the women’s quarters at the prison is tightly controlled by strict security protocols that apply to all individuals, including the director. The investigation involved interviewing a number of female inmates, all of whom firmly denied the allegations.
The General Delegation emphasized that these false accusations damage the reputation of the institution, its director, employees, and the sector as a whole. It urged those making such claims to verify their accuracy before sharing them on social media.
