A prisoner from Casablanca’s Ain Sebaa local prison, widely known as “Oukacha,” has escaped from the emergency ward of the Ibn Rochd University Hospital while undergoing medical treatment, according to Hespress AR sources.

The inmate, who was transferred to the medical facility on Sunday to receive necessary care, reportedly managed to flee unnoticed despite being under the direct supervision of guards from the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration. The daring escape prompted an immediate and widespread security mobilization within the hospital grounds as authorities launched an urgent manhunt to apprehend the fugitive.

As of now, the central prison administration has yet to release an official statement detailing the exact circumstances of the security breach.

Attempts by Hespress to contact the local prison authorities for comment were unsuccessful, and has not confirmed whether the escaped individual has been recaptured.
