Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, called on European authorities to process Moroccan visa applications within a reasonable timeframe, ensuring the dignity and respect of Moroccan citizens, particularly in cases involving specific needs such as education or healthcare.
Bourita highlighted that his ministry continues to work actively to raise awareness among European diplomatic missions about the issue of unauthorized intermediaries and brokers in the visa application process.
In a written response to a parliamentary question about visa intermediaries, Bourita explained that several European countries, including France, Spain, and Italy, have outsourced the management of visa applications to specialized agencies. These agencies are responsible for handling the submission of applications to the diplomatic missions and consulates of these countries.
Bourita further noted that Moroccan diplomatic services regularly address the challenges of the visa issuance system in their bilateral meetings with foreign diplomatic representatives and consular officials accredited in Morocco.
The minister also emphasized that his ministry is consistently urging European authorities to address the issues within visa appointment booking systems, which are often exploited by illegal intermediaries.
