The Moroccan U-17 national team drew 1-1 with their Algerian counterparts on Saturday evening in the fourth round of the North African qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Despite trailing in the first half, Morocco’s young team managed to come back and equalize in the second half, after a series of promising chances to score.
With a string of positive results, including a 5-1 victory over Egypt, a 2-2 draw with Tunisia, and a 2-0 win over Libya, the Moroccan U-17 team has already secured its spot in the AFCON finals.
Morocco finished second in the group with 8 points, just one point behind leaders Egypt, who have 9 points.
