The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has launched the “Riaya 2024-2025” operation, following high royal directives, to provide essential care to populations affected by cold waves in remote regions. This initiative, running from November 15, 2024, to March 30, 2025, targets 31 provinces across eight regions, focusing on mountainous and isolated areas.
The operation aims to address the health needs of vulnerable populations by offering primary care, curative services, and awareness programs at health centers. It also strengthens mobile medical units at key gathering points and ensures emergency care through specialized campaigns and referral hospitals.
“Riaya 2024-2025” ensures the availability of necessary resources, such as human personnel, equipment, and medicines across 591 health centers. The operation will include 3,552 visits by mobile units, 196 specialized medical caravans, and other campaigns to provide vital health services.
A significant logistical effort has been made, mobilizing healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, to support these initiatives. Medical equipment such as mobile ultrasound machines and laboratory tools are available, along with 52 mobile trucks, 164 mobile health units, and 324 ambulances. Adequate stocks of medicines and health products, along with logistical support for accommodation, food, and fuel, ensure the smooth running of the operation.
