The Minister of National Education, Mohamed Saad Barada, has authorized public school teachers to work additional hours at private schools.
Teachers wishing to take on extra hours must obtain an initial permit by the end of June and a final permit by the end of September each year. The memo outlines that teachers can work at more than one private institution, but the total cannot exceed eight hours per week.
Teachers in preparatory classes or technical certificate programs may also be permitted to work additional hours at private institutions outside their region, with prior approval from central authorities.
In case a teacher cannot continue at a private institution, the educational director can request a replacement. Directors must submit monthly lists of authorized teachers to the regional directorate.
