UAE’s Al Jazira F.C Head Coach Houcine Ammouta has reportedly been eyed as a potential candidate to coach the Saudi Arabian national team, in case Italian coach Roberto Mancini be dismissed, according to media reports.
Mancini, who led Italy to victory in the 2020 European Championship, is currently facing a challenging period with Saudi Arabia, as three winless consecutive matches have marred his tenure. As pressure mounts, the Saudi Football Federation is reportedly considering Morocco’s Ammouta as one of the alternatives.
Saudi Arabia is currently in 3rd place in their qualifying group for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with 5 points. While they remain in contention, recent performances have sparked concerns about their ability to secure qualification.
