Nearly 350 attempt Crossing to Ceuta with some rescued, others returned

In the early hours of Thursday morning, nearly 350 individuals attempted to swim to Spanish enclave Ceuta.

Moroccan and Spanish authorities intercepted most of the group before they reached the coast.

12 adults of Algerian nationality and four children were successfully rescued and brought back to shore.

Upon their return, the adults and children were taken to reception centers for unaccompanied minors, according to Iberian media sources.

This incident follows a recent surge in such crossings. In August, 163 unaccompanied minors arrived in Ceuta.

Last Tuesday, a similar attempt ended tragically when two 18-year-olds from El Jadida, Morocco, lost their lives during the perilous journey.
