With determination and perseverance, 20-year-old Moroccan Yasmine Louz successfully climbed Africa’s highest peak: Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania.

Standing 5,895 meters above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the highest volcanic peak on the African continent and the second-highest among the seven volcanic summits worldwide.

In an exclusive statement to Hespress, Yasmine Louz revealed that her project to climb Africa’s highest peak began three years ago after she managed to ascend Mount Toubkal at just 17 years old.

Louz’s adventure began on July 13, starting from the Machame route, which she completed in six days instead of seven.

She reached the summit on Wednesday, July 17, at 6:04 AM after a six-hour climb in -12 degrees Celsius that began at midnight.
