The head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, told parliament on Tuesday that his executive had laid the foundations for a genuine Moroccan model of social dialogue, based on a clear foundation and integrated choices. The aim is to guarantee the regularity of dialogue rounds and facilitate the implementation of results.
During a plenary session at the House of Councillors, in response to a central question on the theme of “Social dialogue, a mechanism for improving working conditions and boosting the national economy”, Aziz Akhannouch stressed that this initiative reflects a clear governmental vision aimed at strengthening the democratic edifice and consolidating the foundations of the social state, in line with the lofty guidelines of King Mohammed VI.
He underlined the importance attached by the King to social dialogue, citing the royal speech on the 19th anniversary of the Feast of the Throne, which called for swift action to bring social dialogue to a successful conclusion.
The Head of Government highlighted the spirit of “sincere patriotism” characterizing the exchanges between the executive and the social and economic partners, which had led to significant progress during the various rounds of dialogue. He noted that these meetings had “produced tangible results.”
In addition, he considered that the government, since the beginning of its mandate, had reactivated the mechanism of social dialogue after years of absence, establishing a climate of mutual trust and working to consolidate the social state and strengthen national economic competitiveness.
This led to the signing of a national charter to institutionalize social dialogue and ensure its continuity, marking a significant milestone in “the history of the Moroccan government”, he noted, recalling the signing of the minutes of April 29, 2024.
Addressing Parliament, the Head of Government noted that the Covid-19 pandemic had redefined strategic priorities, emphasizing the importance of the social and economic sectors and the need to find new solutions for education, health and employment.
Finally, he underlined his government’s determination to place the human element at the heart of its program, in order to meet the challenges of sovereignty and realize the social state in line with citizens’ aspirations.
