The Confederation of African Football (CAF) fined Egyptian club Zamalek $200,000 and banned their fans from attending four matches following incidents during the CAF Confederation Cup final against RS Berkane that saw security breaches and spectator misbehavior.
The Egyptian Football Association announced the penalties on Friday. Fans were suspended for two matches, and CAF cited poor organization at the match as a contributing factor.
Zamalek has three days to appeal the decision with evidence demonstrating the club’s lack of involvement in the incidents.
