A fire that broke out Wednesday in a market in Fez killed four people and injured 26 others, local authorities said.
The injured, 10 of whom suffered burns of various degrees, including 3 severe cases, while 16 others suffered from minor suffocation cases, were transferred to both the regional hospital and the university hospital center in Fez to receive first aid and undergo the necessary treatment.
The authorities believe that the causes of this fire, which also caused significant material losses to approximately 25 stores, are linked to an electrical short circuit resulting from internal repair work.
The judicial police opened an investigation, under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, to uncover the circumstances and causes of this incident .
