A fire broke out at Casablanca’s Koreâ Market late Sunday afternoon, destroying at least eight shops before emergency crews brought the blaze under control, state broadcaster SNRT reported.
Civil Protection units and local authorities intervened to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading through one of the city’s largest markets.
The affected shops sold motorcycle equipment, spare parts and vehicle accessories, local authorities told SNRT.
No deaths or injuries had been reported by Sunday evening.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, and authorities opened an investigation into the circumstances of the blaze.
