A man’s body was found in the landing gear compartment of an Air Arabia Maroc aircraft after it landed at London’s Gatwick Airport from Tangier, prompting an investigation, British media reported.
Emergency services were called shortly after the aircraft arrived at around 11:45 a.m. local time on June 16. The body was discovered in the undercarriage of the Airbus A320 operating Air Arabia Maroc flight 3O102 from Tangier to Gatwick.
Air Arabia Maroc, based in Casablanca, told the Sun in a statement that “an incident was identified upon the arrival of Air Arabia Maroc Flight 3O102 from Tangier to London Gatwick on 16 June 2026, and the relevant authorities were immediately notified.” The airline said it remains in close coordination with authorities investigating the case. The return flight to Tangier was delayed as a result.
Sussex Police told The Sun it was called after the body was found “at about 11.45am on Tuesday, June 16” and that officers are investigating. A report will be prepared for HM Coroner. The body has not been identified.
The man is understood to have entered the plane’s wheel well before departure from Tangier, according to The Sun, which cited an unnamed source raising questions about how the aircraft’s undercarriage area was accessed before take-off.
A similar case occurred at Gatwick in December 2022, when a man’s body was found in the undercarriage of a flight from Banjul, The Gambia. He was never identified.
