In a surprising turn of events, a man from Settat, Morocco, who was declared dead in Casablanca, was discovered to be alive just before his burial.

The family, who had transported him to a clinic in Casablanca following a sudden and serious health issue, were informed of his passing after he underwent various tests and treatments.

They then brought his body back to Settat on Thursday to prepare for his funeral.

As per local sources, the family had already set up a mourning tent near their home in Settat and began receiving condolences.

A large number of people, including relatives and colleagues, came to pay their respects as the man was a well-respected retired department head from the Settat municipality, known for his work ethic and kindness.

While waiting for a relative to arrive before proceeding with the burial, the family contacted the head of the local health office for a final examination.

However, just before the scheduled visit, the family discovered that the man had moved and was showing signs of life.

They immediately informed the health official, who instructed them to rush him to the Hassan II Hospital in Settat.

He is currently alive and receiving intensive care.

This incident marks the third such case in the Settat and Berrechid regions.

Similar occurrences involved a woman in the Ibn Ahmed district, where rumors circulated that she was alive and calling for help from inside her coffin, and another woman in Berrechid.

Authorities later confirmed the deaths in both cases.
