Moroccan fans call for the cancellation of Tunisian rapper Balti’s upcoming concert at the Mawazine festival on June 26th.

The backlash stems from a 2019 social media post by Balti, where he displayed the flag of the Polisario Front alongside the national flags of other North African countries.

This gesture was made in support of Algerian singer Soolking, who had faced criticism for waving the same flag during a concert in Spain.

Online campaigns and petitions are urging Mawazine organizers to remove Balti from the festival lineup.

Fans argue that allowing him to perform would be disrespectful to Moroccan citizens and could potentially spark further tensions.
