Spanish newspaper Atalayar revealed that Morocco has surpassed China, Japan, and India to become the main exporter of the automotive sector to the European Union.

The kingdom uses modern factories, industrial complexes, qualified employees and low production costs to create a strong commercial landscape, with a production turnover that reached more than 535,000 cars.

Atalayar revealed that the automotive sector’s contribution to the Moroccan economy reached $13.7 billion, as exports increased by more than 30% in 2023.

The Kingdom’s strategic location with Europe are among its great advantages. It is located only 14 kilometers from Spain and is considered the gateway from Europe to Africa.

The same source pointed out that Morocco has surpassed car-producing countries such as China, Japan, and India, all of which are economic superpowers and traditional competitors for production in this sector.

Morocco has also become the most important supplier and developer in Africa regarding the automotive sector.
