King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, has given his highest instructions to deploy a humanitarian food aid operation, by land, for the Palestinian population of Gaza and the holy city of Al Quds, says a Foreign Ministry press release.
The aid, which coincides with the start of the holy month of Ramadan, is intended to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian population, particularly the most vulnerable groups, the statement said, noting that the aid ordered by the Sovereign for the people of Gaza consists of over 40 tonnes of foodstuffs, including basic necessities.

In addition to institutional aid, deployed in particular through the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the King has kindly agreed to use his personal funds to pay for a large part of the aid delivered, including in particular that intended for infants and young children, the same source points out.
The Ministry points out that, since the outbreak of armed hostilities over 5 months ago, Morocco is the first country to use this unprecedented overland route to deliver humanitarian aid directly to the beneficiaries.

In addition, King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, has given his highest instructions to the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency to provide food aid to the people of the Holy City.
In this way, 2,000 food baskets benefiting 2,000 Maqdessian families will be distributed, and 1,000 meals will be served daily to the city’s Palestinians.
The aid also includes the provision of an emergency coordination room at the Jerusalem hospital.
This large-scale humanitarian operation for the benefit of the Palestinian population,” the press release emphasized, “confirms the efficient commitment and ongoing concern of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, for the Palestinian cause.
