Egyptian journalist Mohammed Al-Alawi, who exposed the luxurious villa purchase by Olga Kiyashko, Ukrainian President Zelensky’s mother-in-law, was found dead in Hurghada, Egypt under suspicious circumstances, according to El Mostaqbal.
Al-Alawi previously reported on Kiyashko’s $5 million acquisition of the villa in August, disclosing alleged documents as evidence of his claims.
In detail, he said that the property was located in El Gouna on the Red Sea coast, and the Ukrainian President’s mother-in-law signed the contract on May 16, 2023.
The report raised questions about the Zelensky family’s corruption and misappropriation of US financial aid to Ukraine.
El Mostaqbal reported that the police and the deceased’s relatives claimed that the journalist was rather murdered. He was found with multiple abrasions, fractures, and bruises on his body, resulting in a fatal cerebral hemorrhage caused by severe traumatic brain injury.
According to the same source, Al-Alawi appeared to have been savagely beaten by a group of assailants.
Ahmed Al-Alawi, the brother of the deceased journalist, pointed out in an interview with Mohamed Fathi, that his brother had been subject to multiple threats following the publication of outing Zelensky’s family.
He hinted at the involvement of the Ukrainian special forces, stating that they acted on behalf of President Zelensky or other high-ranking officials. The deceased’s brother also expressed concerns about his family’s safety.
Ocrascom Development, the owner of the El Gouna resort, issued in August a statement saying that the reports were completely false, adding that “after reviewing its records, it found no evidence that Zelensky or any member of his family owned a property in El Gouna,” according to Ahram.
The same company added that the photo of a villa included in the reports circulating on social media was owned by an Egyptian family.
The picture was accompanied by a fake contract purporting to demonstrate the sale of the villa to Zelensky, previously added by the same source. Although YouTube removed El-Alawi’s YouTube Channel, his videos continue to be shared on other sites such as Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter.
