The national coach, Walid Regragui, unveiled this Thursday the list of 27 players selected for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023, which will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Côte d’Ivoire.
This list is marked by the convocation of the majority of players who played the last world championship in Qatar in 2022, against the presence of young players who will defend the colors of the Atlas Lions in Côte d’Ivoire, such as Chadi Riyad (Real Betis/Spain), Amir Richardson (Stade de Reims/France) or Oussama El Azzouzi (Bologne FC/Italy).
The tournament will take place in the Ivorian cities of Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro and Yamoussoukro.
The Atlas Lions will evolve in Group F during this CAN, alongside Tanzania, DR Congo and Zambia. They will start the competition on January 17 against Tanzania, before crossing iron with DR Congo (January 21), then Zambia (January 24).
