Moroccan singer Tawsen unveiled his newest track “Zahri” on Friday after a two year absence.
The independent artist is known for hits like “Safe Salina” and “Comme une fleur.”
His return to the music scene is marked by his first ever song performed fully in Moroccan dialect, as opposed to his usual style in which he mixes languages.
In “Zahri” (‘My luck’ in Arabic), Tawsen delves into his emotions, sympathizing with what is happening in the world right now.
“Zahri” to the artist, explained his agent, is a therapy where he expresses his discomfort, his pain, the loneliness that comes with it but also the acceptance of destiny and the outlook on hope.
Tawsen is a rising star paving his way through the international pop scene. He is a Belgian artist, born in Italy, with Moroccan origin, which he always reflects through his art.
His songs are mainly in French but he frequently includes lyrics in Arabic and Italian since all three languages are ones he speaks fluently.
