Nearly 60% of Americans believe money can buy happiness, with millennials setting the highest financial standards.

Millennials, born between 1981 and 1996, aim for an annual salary exceeding $525,947 to “feel happy,” over four times larger than Baby Boomers’ ideal salary of $124,165 per year.

Gen X (born between 1965 and 1980) and Gen Z (born between 1997 and 2012) each express satisfaction with around $130,000 annually.

Millennials aspire to a staggering $1.7 million net worth, while the average earner in this age group, mostly in their 30s, has an average net worth of $275,413, according to Empower’s survey of over 2,000 American adults.
