Akdital, a Moroccan group of private hospitals, is set to embark on a new experiment in healthcare by incorporating modern medical technologies, making it the first group of clinics to do so in Morocco.

Rachid Attalbi, the General Manager of Akdital Group, emphasized during a seminar held on Friday in Casablanca that the group will be the first to make this experiment in Morocco, according to Hespress Ar.

It plans to incorporate robotics, networking, and artificial intelligence in medical fields.

Professor Mohammed Charkaoui, Deputy Chairman of the Research Center at Long Island University in the U.S. spoke about the cooperation agreement to transfer the experience of “Medicine 4.0” to Akdital, starting from Casablanca.

“Today, the world of medicine is entering a new experience by relying on technology, as there has been a transition from the world of digital technology to artificial intelligence and robotics,” said Professor Charkaoui.

He added, “Medical fields are now experiencing the same level of development as the industry, where data management and protection are carried out, surgical interventions and operations take into account patient privacy and adapt to each case.”

Charkaoui underscored that advanced surgical services, part of Medicine 4.0, would be provided in various areas, including heart diseases.

He called for the necessity of engaging in this by providing training for medical and pharmaceutical professionals in this area.

The Deputy Chairman of the Research Center at Long Island University pointed out that “There has been significant progress in the use of these technologies in the U.S.” However, “in Morocco, it requires involving doctors through training on this revolution in medicine,” he explained.

It is worth noting that Professor Charkoui was ranked as the best researcher in 2023.

The seminar shed light on the boundaries of medical innovation, going beyond artificial intelligence and digitization to rebuild modern medicine.

Under the theme, “Medicine 4.0: A Revolution for Access to Personalized Care,” Akdital group introduced the new technology to the Moroccan audience.

Incorporating Medicine 4.0 in treatments aims to improve the quality of healthcare, the accuracy of diagnoses, and the management of diseases.

Medicine 4.0 is a customized medical care, adapted to the needs of each patient.
