First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire, President of Children of Africa Foundation, Dominique Ouattara, expressed her sincere gratitude to King Mohammed VI for His humanist vision and solidarity towards the children of Africa.
“Please convey our sincere gratitude to King Mohammed VI for His humanist vision and the solidarity he shows towards the children of Africa,” Ouattara told Princess Lalla Asmae, President of the Lalla Asmae Foundation, on the occasion of the launch, Wednesday at the Mother and Child hospital in Abidjan, of the second phase of the “United, We Hear Each Other Better” operation, which aims to restore hearing to disadvantaged African children.
The president of Children of Africa Foundation, who co-chaired with Her Royal Highness, the launching ceremony of this 2nd phase, also expressed her gratitude to the King for “His important contribution to the construction of this hospital which provides enormous services to our population”.
Ouattara said that more than twenty cochlear implants were offered by the Lalla Asmae Foundation, in order to benefit children from Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Niger, Mali and Togo, adding that this new collaboration between the two Foundations “testifies to our common commitment to better health for our children”.
In addition to these implants, she pointed out, the Lalla Asmae Foundation donated to the Mother and Child hospital of Bingerville, an ENT surgical microscope and a micromotor, adding that this advanced equipment made it possible to achieve meticulous surgeries undertaken by the team of Moroccan and Ivorian doctors since October 2.
Ouattara stressed that Children of Africa Foundation has been taken care of young patients that have undergone surgeries throughout their hospital stay.
She stressed that the Lalla Asmae Foundation is also committed to sharing knowledge and expertise, by transferring innovative surgical techniques between Moroccan and Ivorian health professionals, thus strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The First Lady of Côte d’Ivoire also expressed her sincere condolences to the Kingdom of Morocco, following the earthquake that has recently affected the country.
