The selection and induction of new conscripts into the 38th contingent was launched at the 3rd Conscripts Training Center (CFA) at the Benguérir military base (Rehamna province).
The operation, which runs until September 16, is supervised by a commission made up of members representing the various offices and departments of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
Candidates from the provinces of Rehamna, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Safi and Youssoufia flocked to the Benguerir military base in the early hours of the morning, aboard public transport buses.
The selection and enlistment process comprises three stages: reception of candidates for military service and verification of their convocations and identity; referral of candidates to the training center to examine their physical fitness under the supervision of a medical examination commission; and presentation of candidates to the selection and enlistment commission, which decides on their suitability for military service.
The number of people called up for military service reached 2,072, including 101 women, of whom 1,038 will be selected, 709 of them at the 3rd Training Center for conscripts at the Benguerir military base.
The remaining conscripts will be assigned to other military service centers throughout the Kingdom. A total of 2,000 male conscripts will benefit from training at the Center, following the arrival of 1,291 conscripts selected from other centers in the Kingdom.
At the end of the selection process, the conscripts will be integrated into the 38th contingent, representing 20,000 people throughout the country, before being directed to the training centers set up and equipped by the FAR to welcome them in the best conditions.
The Royal Armed Forces High Command has taken all the organizational and logistical measures, and mobilized all the human and material resources required to ensure the success of this nationwide operation.
