In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Suits creator Aaron Korsh revealed that he was cautioned against including the word “poppycock” in lines for Meghan Markle’s character, Rachel Zane.
Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, portrayed Zane in the legal drama series from 2011 to 2018.
Korsh explained that he had intended for Meghan’s character to utter the word as an inside joke with his in-laws, but the royal family objected.
“They didn’t want to put the word ‘poppycock’ in her mouth,” Korsh told the Hollywood Reporter.
The 56-year-old producer added that he was uncertain about how the palace obtained the scripts and noted that the alteration wasn’t influenced by Markle.
