Al-Quds children participating in the “Green March” summer camp organized by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency met on Monday in Skhirat with members of the Moroccan U-17 football team, which qualified for the final stage of the 2023 World Cup to be held in Peru.
The meeting, which took place in the presence of the team’s technical staff headed by former Moroccan international Said Chiba, was an opportunity to recall the feat of the Atlas Lions at the World Cup in Qatar, which reached the semi-finals of this global competition, according to a statement by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency.
The U-17 team, the statement recalled, had qualified for the World Cup in Peru after reaching the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in the same category following their 3-0 quarter-final victory over their Algerian counterparts, the tournament hosts.
The 2023 U-17 World Cup will be the 19th edition of the competition, which is contested every two years by the U-17 national teams of FIFA’s member associations.
