Morocco has consistently increased its Mandarin exports to Canada, as from September to April, Moroccan exporters sent 73,000 tonnes of mandarins, a record-high result and half of all Mandarin imports to Canada.
Furthermore, despite an overall reduction in total Mandarin exports to Canada during the same period, Morocco managed to boost its shipments to Canada.
Mandarins are one of Morocco’s most important export categories, with the country being among the top five largest exporters of these fruits, according to East Fruit media.
Morocco’s exports peaked at 625,000 tonnes in the same months in 2021/22. Mandarins come in second only to tomatoes in total Morocca, horticulture exports.
During the current agricultural year, they have already brought about $290 million in export value for Moroccan exporters.
Morocco exports mandarins to over 60 countries worldwide. Except for Canada, shipments to practically every destination declined in 2022/23.
