The Cité des Métiers et des Compétences (CMC) in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, inaugurated on Tuesday by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the town of Tamesna, will offer a diversified range of training courses focusing on new trades.

The training on offer at the Cité des Métiers et des Compétences de Rabat-Salé-Kénitra cove rs 8 trade sectors, including 4 new ones, chosen to reflect the specific features of the region’s economic fabric. These are “Digital and Artificial Intelligence”, “Health”, “Agriculture”, “Tourism & Hospitality”, “Management & Commerce”, “Industry”, “Agri-food” and “Personal and Community Services”.

All the training programs deployed at this Cité have been established in line with the new pedagogical model of the Office de la Formation Professionnelle et le Promotion du Travail (OFPPT), which advocates the development of professional skills and soft skills, while making the learner the key player in the learning process, through the diversification of training modes and the use of new, more interactive, participative teaching methods, encouraging trainees to take the initiative and unleash their energies.

The fruit of a co-construction process that mobilized the collective intelligence of all the players in the Vocational Training ecosystem (ministries, CGEM, professionals, etc.), the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra CMC is the 4th Cité des Métiers et des Compétences to open its doors to welcome young people in training, after those in Souss-Massa, Oriental and Laâyoune-Sakia-El Hamra.

It will further enrich and strengthen the OFPPT’s training facilities in the region, with an annual capacity of 3,560 teaching places, which will be increased to 4. 560 as of next year, thanks to the two branches attached to the Cité, namely the Institut de Formation dans les Métiers de la Santé in Rabat (currently under construction, offering 560 training places/year) and the Institut de Formation dans les Métiers de l’Agro-Industrie in Kénitra (a project with a capacity of 440 trainees/year).
