Said Shaiba, the coach of the Moroccan U-17 football team said that their upcoming game against Algeria will be different from their last clash, held as part of the Arab tournament.
The game, which will be played today at 8pm in Al-shahid Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine, is part of the U-17 CAF AFCON.
At the pre-match press conference, Shaiba said that Morocco has prepared well for the confrontation, and is seeking victory to reach the semi-finals with the help of fans.
Although the Algerian opponent has the same ambitions, the Moroccan coach believes his team sustains great chance.
Shaiba explained that the match is very different from the Arab Cup finals, given the evolution of the teams since then, stating that the team will play in the way that it used to, without pressure, with the hope of participating in the next U-17 World Cup.
Shaiba continued: “The game is not a revenge, the idea behind the tournament is upgrading our players’ performance, our supreme goal is to participate in the World Cup so as to reach a high level.”
The results of tonight’s game will determine who will be qualified for the U-17 World Cup.
