The call for applications to participate as an artist in the upcoming edition of the Rabat-based festival Visa for Music, which will take place from November 22 to 25, 2023, is now closed and has received a record number of applications: 1505.

71 artists from the American continent, 244 from Europe, 158 from Asia, 1 from Australia, and 1031 from Africa have applied to participate in this unique event.

The jury will select approximately thirty artists from 1505 applications for the festival’s 10th-anniversary celebration. The artists’ names have yet to be revealed, said the organizers in a press release.

“This year’s selection promises to be rich in unique musical discoveries,” they further stated.

The contrast between the significant energy of artistic production in Africa and the Middle East and the underrepresentation of those artists in the media inspired the idea of Visa For Music.

This festival serves as a launching point for any artists and as a unifying event since it encourages networking opportunities, helps to increase their visibility, and helps them win the respect they merit.
