Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred, who was convicted in France of charges of rape, has appealed his six-year prison sentence, his lawyer and a judicial source announced Tuesday.
“Given his assertion of innocence, Saad Lamjarred appealed today,” the singer’s lawyers, Thierry Herzog and Jean-Marc Fedida told AFP.
A criminal court in Paris found the singer guilty of aggravated rape against a French woman, who filed a complaint against him in October 2016.
