Israeli Air Force Commander arrives to Morocco for official visit along with senior military delegation

General Commander of the Israeli Air Force Tomer Bar is on an official visit to Morocco, accompanied by a senior military delegation, where he met the Inspector of the Royal Air Force, Abed Alaoui Bouhamid.

Morocco and Israel agreed to develop F16 and F5 fighters, of which the Royal Air Force has a fleet, by supporting them with modern technology and developing their flight and simulation capabilities.

The Israeli general, accompanied by a number of Moroccan officials in the Royal Air Force, visited a number of military air bases, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two armies. Bar was accompanied by the chief of training in the Israeli Air Force, a first lieutenant colonel, and other commanders.

This trip comes after the first annual steering committee of the defense establishment in cooperation with Morocco in Rabat, where the two countries agreed to deepen military cooperation.

Israel excels in technological warfare in the Middle East region, having a large  and diverse military fleet of jet warplanes and multiple air, land and sea defense systems, which will enable Rabat to develop its local capabilities and transfer Israeli expertise and employ it to confront the surrounding regional and international challenges. in the Kingdom.

The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces said that Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco cooperate in the field of intelligence and cybersecurity, and “agreed to further strengthen and expand cooperation to other areas, including intelligence, air defense and electronic warfare.”

The Kingdom is betting on benefiting from the Israeli expertise in the fields of security and defense, as Rabat is close to obtaining the latest generation of “Bluebird” unmanned aircraft, on which the Israeli Air Force relies.

The United States of America will work to play a pivotal role in bringing the Israeli industry closer to Rabat, as the tripartite agreement signed in late December of last year reflects the existence of understandings between Tel Aviv, Rabat and Washington in order to create a common “environment” that works to establish security in the Sahel region and North Africa.

In September 2022, Israel hosted General Belkhair Farouk, Inspector General of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, in Tel Aviv, to attend an international military conference.

Morocco is preparing to enter the era of military industries in light of the turbulent international environment, in an effort to achieve self-sufficiency and reduce its import base of defensive weapons, which makes it an ambitious leap with multiple goals in light of the strategic relations that unite it with the industrial actors.
