Rabat’s Mohammed V University was awarded, during a ceremony held in Cairo, with the Arab Governmental Excellence Award
The award fits within the category of the best Arab government project for the development of education, related to its initiative on information management of candidate selection for Ph.D. and for re-registration.
A Hespress AR report stated that the government of the United Arab Emirates launched this award, the first and largest of its kind in the Arab world, in the field of administrative development and government institutional excellence in 2019, in partnership with the League of Arab States and the Arab Organization for Administrative Development.
The launch of this award came to represent a qualitative leap in the field of government development and administrative excellence in the Arab world, and provides an effective platform for exchanging experiences and developing capacities and skills. It is also an important occasion to celebrate the most prominent Arab experiences in 15 categories.
The communication indicated that the award was received by Latifa Hafeez and Rachid Akado, who represent the presidency of Mohammed V University in Rabat. And in the presence of a delegation from the university, and Hisham Ould Salay, Deputy Permanent Representative of Morocco to the Arab League.
It was stated in the report that the initiative of the Mohammed V University in Rabat included the development of a mechanism based on information systems in the management of the pre-registration stage in the doctorate, in order to facilitate processing the files of students wishing to complete their university studies.
This is part of a policy aimed at adopting practices that are in line with sustainable development, especially with regard to reducing the use of paper and energy consumption, in an attempt to link the concepts of sustainable development and the implementation of public policies.
The same source emphasized that “the aforementioned mechanism enabled the rapid and accurate processing of all files in a limited time, for the university institutions, this saves time and effort, and meets the wishes of beneficiaries at the lowest cost.”
It is noteworthy that the Arab Government Excellence Award includes 15 categories, divided into two main categories: individuals and institutions.
