The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces’ (RMAF) logistical capabilities can now better support expeditionary missions as a new truck supply has been integrated.
The Moroccan government’s investments to revamp its logistical operations and fill capability gaps is well underway. The army is strengthening its logistics, ordering new vehicles to replace outdated versions.
The lightweight LPTA-715 44 vehicle and 92 high-mobility Tata LPTA 2445 66 multi-axle trucks have both been delivered to the Moroccan Army. Late in December, a port in Gujarat shipped India-manufactured TATA trucks.
The LPTA 2445 66 high mobility all-terrain all-wheel drive vehicle can be equipped with a common gun tower, a multi-barrel rocket launcher, a missile firing unit, a missile service vehicle, a field service vehicle, a short-range surface-to-air missile, a quick reaction surface-to-air missile, a low-level quick reaction missile, and a medium recovery vehicle, among other things.
The loading, unloading, and transportation of ammo pallets, spare parts, and other operational equipment are anticipated to be done with the new trucks.
Additionally, Morocco is receiving at least 500 Mercedes Unimog vehicles that were constructed in Turkey. The Unimog trucks are seen in recent Casablanca photos being unloaded from the port, according to Military Africa.
Morocco needed military trucks, but it also needed to enhance the driving skills of its soldiers, which required greater training. As a result, the Moroccan Defense Administration purchased from ECA GROUP eight EF-Trucks simulators and six EF-Car Motion simulators.
The simulators will be used by Moroccan defense training and new recruits to help them learn to drive and obtain their licenses.
