Morocco launched the e-visa service last July in order to attract tourists from other countries as part of the national Tourism Strategy.
Additionally, it was decided starting January 10 to include Jordan, India, Guatemala, and Azerbaijan in the list of countries whose citizens can benefit from the Moroccan e-Visa.
The number of beneficiaries of this visa, according to data issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reached 170,000 from 49 countries around the world.
The electronic visa is part of the continuous efforts made by Morocco at the national and international levels to digitize the services provided by the public administration.
This measure also aims to modernize consular work across the country’s diplomatic missions and consular centers.
The electronic visa is considered a license for any individual to access the territory, its validity extends for a maximum of 180 days, starting from the date of its issuance. It also allows entry to Moroccan soil for a stay of up to a maximum of 30 days.
Tourism activities are betting on this step in order to facilitate the process of attracting more tourists, especially in the international market.
This move comes in accordance with the guidelines adhered to by the Moroccan government to support the national tourism sector and promote the Kingdom as a preferred destination for tourism and business, according to the same source.
