In 2023, the Ladies European Tour will continue to promote women’s golf globally, with players competing for at least €35 million in total prize money, a record-breaking total prize fund with 30 official events in Morocco notably.
Announced on December 22, The LET calendar will take the tour to 21 nations, beginning with the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, which will be played for the third time on the Baobab Course at Vipingo Ridge in Kenya in the first week of February.
The LET will then return to Morocco for the first time since 2019 for the Lalla Meryem Cup, which will be played on the Blue Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam at the same time as the PGA TOUR Champions competes on the Red Course.
The Lalla Meryem Cup was formerly hosted in Rabat until moving to Agadir in 2011. In 2016, it returned to Rabat.
Since 1993, the tournament has been held in cooperation with the Hassan II Golf Trophy.
It was added to the Ladies European Tour schedule in 2010 and was raised to a full-field competition from a field of roughly 12 players previously.
In 2011, both events relocated to Agadir.
Ines Laklalech, a LET rookie professional, made history by being the first Moroccan, Arab, and North African woman to win a Ladies European Tour title at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France in Deauville.
The Ladies European Tour was founded in 1978.
