Melilla Spanish Civil Guard arrested six people involved in the transport of Moroccan irregular migrants on boats inside the territory.

According to the newspaper “Alvaro de Melilla”, the arrest came as part of two security operations, the first of which enabled the apprehension of two people red-handed in transporting irregular immigrants by the Coast and Border Control Department.

Immediately, according to the same source, the Civil Guard leadership was alerted, which ordered a security patrol to search the boat, which was heading at the time towards the wharf of the fishing port of Melilla, where the reasons for the operation of irregular migration were identified.

The second operation enabled the arrest of four other people, after a security patrol in the port of Melilla caught an unregistered person inside the fishing port dock, only to discover that he had entered the city illegally.

According to the same source, the research led to identifying the four people behind the secret immigration process. The investigation conducted with those arrested in connection with this case enabled the identification of a criminal network in Nador, which is responsible for recruiting candidates for immigration to the city of Melilla.
