A Moroccan child is being subjected to a mass cyberbullying campaign following her comments on Ronaldo ‘heading home,’ after Portugal’s loss against Morocco in the Qatar World Cup’s quarter-final.

A video of the girl went viral and blew out of proportion after she answered a question from a journalist outside the stadium where the game was played.

The journalist asked “where is Ronaldo?” and the girl answered by saying “Portugal airport is that way and where’s Ronaldo? He’s crying in his car, poor Ronaldo.”

The Portuguese player’s massive fandom didn’t hold back and posted numerous insensitive comments on the child who looks no day older than 11 years old, attacking her with numerous death and rape threats.

Some even took to the extent of making montages with the French player Kylian Mbappé, asking him to avenge Ronaldo’s ‘tragic loss’ in his last world cup.

This raised a huge debate in the Moroccan Twitter community, where parents explained why children must be protected by not being put on the internet in the first place due to how cruel of a world it is we live in.

Screen Mix media reached out to the girl’s family who expressed that she’s going through a depressive episode following the mass hate and death threats she has been receiving from Ronaldo’s fans all over the globe.

The father insisted that the girl only answered the journalist’s question happily after Morocco’s legendary win.

Other people found it ridiculously offensive that many laughed at the Saudi fan saying ‘where is Messi’ after Argentina’s loss in the group stage against Saudi Arabia yet bashed the Moroccan child.
