Morocco’s historic Royal Golf Dar Es Salam will see from November 3-6 the debut of the first international world-class Asian golf tour event in North Africa.
Called the ‘international series’, the tour is a groundbreaking international event that will now take place in Morocco and then Egypt.
“This has been an unprecedented season and we are delighted to be able to announce exciting news about the Asian Tour’s first visit to North Africa,” said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner and CEO, of Asian Tour.
“The International Series Morocco and International Series Egypt are two spectacular additions to our schedule that will provide our members with a unique opportunity to compete somewhere new while allowing the Tour to broaden its reach,” declared the commissioner according to the Asian tour’s official page.
Abderrahim Bouftas, president of Dar Es Salam’s golf facility, said, “We are happy to once again host a top-notch international professional competition after three years of shutdown due to COVID-19.”
He explained that the event is ‘hugely exciting’ for Morocco.
The country hosting the new International Series is a chance to see the very best and emerging talents from the Asian Tour and Moroccan golf, said Bouftas.
He declared that “We are proud of our traditions and the prestigious history of Royal Golf Dar Es Salam. It’s a huge opportunity for the passionate Moroccan fan base here to see world-class golf on the jewel in our crown here, the Red Course,” reported Arab news media.
Golf Dar Es Salam has a history of hosting international golf events.
The director of the venue, Hicham Berdaii called this another important historic milestone for Royal Golf Dar Es Salam as it hosts the inaugural International Series Morocco tournament.
“We are hugely looking forward to opening our doors for all with admission free for spectators,” said Berdaii.
