Rabat’s Museum of History and Civilizations will host the exhibition “Roads of the Roman emperors through Serbia VIMINACIUM” starting from October 5 to December 1, 2022, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Morocco.
The event’s press conference will take place at the museum on October 4 at 10:30 a.m.
Mehdi Qotbi, the president of the National Museums Foundation, and Ivan Bauer, the ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Morocco will be present alongside the director of the Archaeological Institute of Belgrade and the director of the Viminacium Archaeological Park in Serbia at the press conference.
The most recent archaeological explorations at the site of Viminacium, capital of the Roman province of Upper Moesia (Moesia Superior), later called First Moesia (Moesia Prima), have shown that this great city and camp of legions was a transition point between the West and East.
The exhibition “Roads of Roman Emperors through Serbia VIMINACIUM” hopes to connect all places with rich ancient heritage to form a cultural route over 600 km long and use them as a resource to improve cultural tourism.
The exhibition will be presented at the Kasbah Museum, a contemporary art space in Tangier, from December 7, 2022, to February 27, 2023.
