Israeli company reveals supplying Morocco with kamikaze planes for surveillance, defense
Monday 26 September 2022 - 20:20

Israeli aviation and space company Blue Bird announced that it has signed a contract with Morocco to supply it with unmanned aircrafts, worth tens of millions of dollars.

The Royal Armed Forces have therefore secured the kamikaze planes, which do not require pilots, to support the army’s capabilities  in the  reconnaissance, surveillance, air defense, and emergency management of natural disasters.

The “Blue Bird Wanderer” aircraft is considered a long-range aircraft, and it was built with modern technology, as it takes off and lands automatically, covering a large area of land in direct reconnaissance of national agencies. The vehicles have the ability to fly continuously for 52 hours, and can be customized to the user’s needs, with a maximum payload of 250 kilograms.

This aircraft also represents an advanced reconnaissance aircraft that serves the army and field intelligence, and has thermal cameras, and is used for strategic and tactical missions, with systems for collecting intelligence information through 4 electronic sensors, and geographic positioning by electromagnetic radiation from radioactive materials and nuclear bombs.

The Blue Bird Aero Systems has been producing and developing small drones since its establishment in 2002 for the benefit of the Israeli security services, and it sells its products to several countries.

The state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries acquired 50% of the same company’s shares in September 2020, due to the huge demand in the market for small drones, both at the civilian and military levels.

Tel Aviv and Rabat are currently working on a project to manufacture kamikaze drones in Morocco. Israel is one of the leading exporters of drones, and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has more than 50 operational customers around the world.

The Kingdom is turning to “war industrialization” in order to protect its national security, betting on the American partnership in order to enhance its defensive and offensive capabilities.
