A fourteen-year-old girl died in Boumia in the region of Midelt as a result of unsafe and illegal abortion.
The procedure was carried out by a midwife working in the regional hospital of Mideltl, and a technician at Azrou Hospital, impersonating a nurse, according to witnesses.

The Alliance denounced the rape and the secret abortion in unsafe conditions that led to the victim’s death, calling for legislation to protect women.
The human rights group called for a radical and comprehensive change in the concept, structure, language, and requirements of the penal code laws, in line with the constitution and international agreements, to limit the recurrence of children’s tragedies.
They also called for the decriminalization and regulation of medical abortion in the public health code according to the standards set by the World Health Organization, aiming to make it a public service when pregnancy makes them physically, mentally, spiritually or socially so Women can benefit from it when their health is at risk whitout taking further risks.
